01Corporate History

1948 - 1980

1948
Osaka Architectural & Engineering Firm, Inc.established by a group of engineers and architects from the former Sumitomo Real Estate Building., Co., Ltd. and Nippon Engineering Co., Ltd.
1949
Headquarters moved to Kyomachibori, Osaka (current Osaka Office).
1950
Nagoya Office established.
1951
Obtained a patent for a floating-foundation soft subgrade system with a high groundwater level, which takes buoyancy into account.
1954
Tokyo Office established.
1955
Developed an innovative all-welded construction method.
1956
Kyushu Office (predecessor of Fukuoka Office) established.
1963
Joint Development with Kubota Tekko K.K. Developed a process to make steel tube columns named 'G-column', which involves using centrifugal force on hot material.
1967
Developed a steel structural system named a 'keel structure', using a big main girder on a top roof, via which all roof structures are suspended.
1971
Company renamed DAIKEN SEKKEI, INC.
1978
Head office moved to Tokyo

1981 - 2000

1982
Overseas Facilities Dept. became independent.
1984
Yokohama Branch established.
1987
Fukuoka and Sapporo Offices established.
1989
Hiroshima Office established.
1990
Sendai Office and Kyoto Branch established.
DAIKEN SEKKEI Osaka Building completed.
1993
Plant Engineering Dept. became independent.
1994
DAIKEN SEKKEI Tokyo Building completed.
2000
Obtained the ISO9001 quality management system certification.

2001 - 2020

Medical Dept. became independent.

Shizuoka Branch established.

Corporate/Design/Ethical Philosophies established.

Agenda 2012 established.

2018
Celebrated the 70th anniversary. Agenda 2018 established.
