I grew up in the countryside of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture until high school, which I think has made me more sensitive to the comfort of living in harmony with nature and the appeal of the landscapes and environments I encounter on my travels. This sensitivity informs my work as an architect, in which I have engaged in dialogue with local climates, histories, and cultures, deciphering the distinct characteristics of each area and creating buildings that coexist with communities and nature. With every project, I will continue aiming to create humanistic, aesthetically pleasing architecture while remembering my spirit of exploration and devoting energy to running the offices smoothly.

Away from work, I like to go out—when I was in school, I devoted myself to kendo, handball, and skiing, and often toured buildings with classmates. Even after entering the workforce, I maintained my passion for rubber-ball sandlot baseball and skiing competitions between design firms. More recently, I have stayed physically active while dealing with the ramifications of aging, enjoying running, hiking, and golfing with family and friends. Now that my two children are grown and have their own lives, I turn to my two rescue cats for everyday comfort.
