Since I was a child, I was interested in making things. I liked chemical experiments and tinkering with machines. Believing that architecture has the power to improve society, I majored in architecture at university and aspired to architectural design.

I joined DAIKEN SEKKEI in 1989 and was initially assigned to the Kyushu Office, where I have been involved in design for a wide range of structures, including residential, educational facilities, cultural facilities, government facilities, and sporting facilities. Along with creating comfortable facilities based on a wide range of knowledge and high skill, we have continued our aim to create creative spaces, believing in the power of large spaces and of beautiful design to impress people. In 2018, I transferred to the Technology Group at the head office to promote DX, including the creation of design standards and the use of AI tools such as BIM for design, and to manage technology for the entire company to support the foundation for creating better buildings.

Outside of work, I tour on motorcycles with close friends and take family to visit hot springs to refresh and relax in my free time.

Representative Works

Nagasaki Citizen's General Pool

Completed in 1996

This pool was planned as a popular pool for citizens. We aimed to create an indoor swimming pool that is bright, open and flooded with natural light, building a facility with a sense of transparency.

Outside, there is a lazy river, infant pool, water slide, and more, making it a popular leisure pool with residents. Indoors, there are 50-meter and 25-meter certified pools that can be used for competitive swimming. For the 50-meter pool, a split movable floor was adopted to achieve both high competition performance and a leisure pool. Also, a keel structure was adopted to achieve a large, dynamic space.

Hinata Konohana Dome

Completed in 2004

The Largest Wooden Dome in Kyushu

The largest wood frame dome in Kyushu Located in the Comprehensive Sports Park, the facility was planned as an all-weather indoor exercise facility that is widely popular with prefectural residents.

This is a large wood frame space with a fire-resistant structure, achieved through advanced technology.

A partial torus cut out adds geometric clarity. Structurally, a single-layer wood frame with membrane structure achieves a rational and beautiful space.

My private time

I like to tour around freely without picking a destination in advance. Experiencing the culture of unfamiliar places and meeting new people allows you to discover new values.I also like to go to hot springs with my family and relax in a healing atmosphere.
